Stefan Sollenius + Ana Carolina von Hertwig‘s Scene From My Window (2017) was hosted by WNDW at 2050 Scotia St

Sollenius + von Hertwig’s collaborative video work Scene From My Window layers and compiles footage shot through the window of a tree planting crew truck over the course of three summers. Spanning the forests of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick the work grants the viewer access to the industrialized wilderness that supports and sustains the majority of our resource driven economy.

Shot by Sollenius, a long-time treeplanter, and compiled by Sollenius + von Hertwig, Scene hovers between legibility and abstraction, revealing both familiar boreal vistas and the industrial scenes often hidden beneath the increasingly thin veneer of Canadian Wilderness.
